The dream I had wasn’t a dream as much as an image that presented itself to me when I was asleep. I don’t have the artistic ability to create exactly how it looked but I can say it looked sort of like this. The patterned material on the right is supposed to represent what I would see if I was driving at night and looked out at my side rear view window. All around was pitch black. There was a kind of bronze glow around the outside edge of the mirror. I’m totally guessing about the brown part of what’s in the mirror. It could have been another color or black also. I do know that the yellow ball was so bright like staring into the sun. I had to look away. I remember thinking that this was the eye of some machine that was looking in at me.
The image wasn’t there long, and I think I forced myself to wake up.
Any thoughts, impressions, etc. are welcome.
The moon is a dashboard pupil, following you, no doubt, as the full moon notoriously does. A crazy fan, a stalker even.

Karen, that is a poem in and of itself. Could be!

I just wrote what came to mind; I think it will be your tale to tell.

That is a kinda disturbing dream! Not sure what it means!

It definitely had an ET feel to it, which is very frightening to me.

I see both eye and rear view mirror. I have no interpretations except some kind of interactions between time passing. But it’s a beautiful piece of art. (K)

Kerfe, thank you. Maybe I’ll have another dream of it and get more details…

Looks like something trying to catch up with you

Yes, it being in “the rearview” has got to mean something. The fact that it’s total darkness all around but this bright light, bright as the sun. It reminds me of the eye of robots I’ve seen in movies, the shape of the mirror.

I said the same thing to you that someone told me when I dreamed of climbing two huge mountains, only to look around and this giant tidal wave was coming…something is trying to catch up with you…. I love dreams…even the bad ones are interesting.

had you been watching the X-files before? Kinda looks and sounds like one of those “driving along a rural road late at night just before my car stopped and watch stopped…” type stories!
Like I said to you regarding the George H dream, I don’t know if I envy you or feel bad for you because 99 times out of a 100 , if I remember my dreams they’re quite reality-based, albeit weird (and at times scary ). For instance, even if my sweetie and family members from here are present in the dream, I usually sense I’m back in Ontario. A whole lot of my dreams seem to take place in a camera shop/lab I worked at for 11 yeas, but often it’s changed up…one a few weeks ago I remember , there was some sort of annex to the building, a sunroom with artificial turf that sold second hand junk AND seemed to be a kiddie daycare off to one side of the regular store. Very weird, yet it seemed normal while I was dreaming it.

No, Dave, wasn’t watching anything like that, but my mind wanders to a lot of places while it is awake. You are definitely having some interesting dreams even if you “normalize” them while you are in them. I’m sure that means something. I hope you have a dream log that you keep. My teacher has logged thousands of dreams and is trying to compile them and see if there are patterns.
One thing we talked about in class was when one of the other ladies talked about an experiment where someone held up a card and the other person tried to guess what it was. They kept track of cards and guesses. At first it looked like the guesser was wrong over and over again, but upon closer examination they realized they were right but it was a few off in the sequence. Hoping I’m explaining this right, but they were guessing right but just a few cards ahead! Really makes me wonder about the linearity of time.

the dream book isn’t a bad idea, but I typically don’t remember them…I’d say probably only about 1/4 of the time do I wake up and remember what I’d been dreaming. I don’t know if they were the most jarring ones or if it’s more to do with where I was in rem cycle when I was awakened.

This was kinda spooky! First thought – a UFO was following you. I have lots of UFO dreams, and it’s like they show me things, like strange inventions, and geometric patterns. I have no idea what they mean, though. 🙂

Oh wow, Barbara, I know *exactly* what you are talking about! Did you see that one I just posted on 2/25 about George Harrison? That dream felt just like that. Does this thing look like anything you’ve seen in your UFO dream?

Dreams are weird. Some seem so real, and some I’ve had seem so precognitive I’ve looked for confirmation and listened for any news that might be similar. Your rear-view mirror image doesn’t remind me of any I’ve had, but can’t remember. I’ve got many dream journals that I’ve written down all I remember. Very strange going back to read these. 🙂

mmh – had to look up the term ‘erasure poems’ – “An erasure is found poetry created by erasing original text to reveal something new.” I can’t and won’t object if that is what is perceived. It seemed to me that by abstaining from interpretation, I was trying to get at what was in the experience…

mmh had to look up the term erasure poem and found ‘revealing something new…’ – I can’t object if that is what was perceived. However, it seemed to me rather by abstaining from interpretation, I was trying to get at what was in the dream… Think Basho: – no point interpreting the frog…
