Yesterday older son visited for some hours. He’s been on vaca all week and so it was good he chose to spend some of it with his old hen mum. We took a drive to the Amish Bulk Food store so I could show him the place I’m always talking about. Then we had lunch at the Moon Dance Cafe, where they have the best coffee a body could ever want to drink. When we got back to the house, we took a walk out back, passing the cast iron tub of strawberries. I notice there were some turning green and so decided to take a stroll with the (phone) camera this afternoon.
Last year the ginkgo weren’t looking that great and I wondered if they would even survive winter.
ginkgo 1 has always been the strongest of the three. It has new growth on the original trunk.
ginkgo 3, the one I accidentally got with the mower, has the healthiest new growth of them all!
green life springs anew
soon forgotten harsh winter

Reaching for the sky ❤️

Wow! Tomorrow it’s supposed to hit 71 and on Monday 77 here in New Jersey, though with rain on both days. Tuesday the high is forecast to drop back to 50 with Sun and clouds. I prefer the latter!

It was a wonderful day, yes. Long time since son visited me here at home, usually we meet up at younger son’s house or elsewhere. One thing I know about ginkgo trees is that they grow very slowly but they are very hardy. I saw some beautiful ones growing inside at Meijer Gardens, will post the pictures at some point.

I looked Ginkgo up and the benefits are incredible!
I’m so happy you had a good day Lisa…we all need days like that to keep us sane.

Yes on ginkgo benefits. What’s also amazing is how cheap dried ginkgo leaves are to buy. I bought a huge bag for tea from penn herb for a very low price. I buy all of my herbs for tea loose leaf then mix them up for my nightly brew. Ginkgo is for healing and those other benefits more than taste (it doesn’t have much of a taste) but it goes into the mixes.

About he only thing it doesn’t help is the common cold lol…I was shocked when I read about it.
