#FF — Monday’s Red Rose

Monday’s Red Rose

It started with Monday’s red rose left on my doorstep. I smiled, wondering who my secret admirer was. On Tuesday, I arrived home and found a box of high-priced chocolate truffles, kept cool with an ice pack. One melted on my tongue as my imagination wandered again as to my admirer.

Each day of the week, I found a bigger and better anonymous gift. On Sunday morning, I was gifted with a masked figure standing over my bed.

Are you surprised, Mary?”

I recognized his voice: it was the man I watched die – at my hand.

Thank you, Gabi. I remember another FF story I wrote (there was a lake) where the assumed corpse was less-than. I really wonder whether love can transcend murder…

Wonderful buildup to a chilling end leaving me wondering if he was really dead. Either way, I’d say she’s in Trooooouuuuuble. Well done.

According to Khan, the Klingons have a saying that revenge is a dish best served cold, and leading her on for that shock end was pretty cold! Or maybe it was hot, but I just wanted to use the quote ;)
