dVerse — MTB Form — Constanza — A Cloudy Day (2nd offering)

https://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large-5/lilacs-and-clouds-susan-savad.jpg

A cloudy day and the wind blows
scent of lilacs; infusing air,
it lifts the tendrils of my hair.

A cloudy day; buds on the rose;
swelling green onions slow to burst.
No aphids in sight; could be worse.

A cloudy day; doves in repose,
dozing cuddle in the pine tree
post pecking; a morning of seeds.

A cloudy day and the grass grows
right now it’s as tall as my knees
mower’s broke; to fix will take weeks.

A cloudy day; bluebirds deposed
from the far box by a triller
whose song, once gay, now means killer.

A cloudy day; mist of your ghost
wanders to catch my ev’ry glance;
chimes tinkle and woodpeckers laugh.

Cloudy day, please find a new home.
Relieve other drought atmospheres.
Fill’s been reached of sighing and tears.

A cloudy day and the wind blows
A cloudy day; buds on the rose;
A cloudy day; doves in repose,
A cloudy day and the grass grows
A cloudy day; bluebirds deposed
A cloudy day; mist of your ghost
Cloudy day, please find a new home.

    I know what you mean about those clouds. But everything is lush and green as a result. And lilacs! (K)

      Kerfe, I hear you. Yes, what I described is a snapshot of it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I like clouds, but there can be too much of a good thing :(

    Oh gosh. Lovely in every way. You know I can smell the air you talk about… I can. And love it.
    I spoke about it in mine too– the fragrant air… May everyone stop to notice it too.
    Awareness. Thanks for this, Lisa. Loved everything.

      Selma, thank you very much. It was pouring rain for hours yesterday, and yet the lilacs remain intact. It’s a fragrant and hardy plant/blossom. My pleasure <3

  6. Hope those clouds have cleared up in the meantime or will do so soon. We’re bracing for scorching heat over the weekend and could probably use some of them! :-)

      Yes it does! I called a local person yesterday who mows lawns and the dude never called me back. Poor business practice unless he’s in the hospital or something. His wife didn’t mention any hospital when I left the message… I’m going to try and pick up a new battery and try that before they come next week to get it.

        Businesses often take their customers for granted…and that is not a way to get new ones. I can tolerate a lot of things…but being ignored is not one of them.

  8. Love the way you used it… and with repetition, it also works as a refrain. If you got that much grass and no mover maybe you can use a scythe…. :-)

      Bjorn I’m getting a flash of deja vu because I remember you suggested a scythe last time my mower broke down. Maybe it is time…

    You did a great job on the prompt and the poem. We really needed a cloudy day or two and finally got one this weekend.

      Thank you, Dwight. Did you have a storm that took out half of your tree??

        Yes, it must have been a mini-twister. My neighbor up the street has the same thing happen a month ago, only it took out the whole tree with only three feet left standing!

          Oh wow. I’m glad it only hit the tree. We had a tornado in Gaylord, north of here, a few days ago. Some people were killed and some injured.
