Getting Fit — Bike Ride 082222

Getting Fit Banner 100821

Today’s ride was out on part of the North Bank Trail but mostly on the Spoonville and Idema Explorer’s Trails.  It took awhile to recover from the distance (30+ miles) and terrible sunburn of the last ride.  This ride was about half as long and I was spray-saturated with SPF.  I added a little more detail on location with this one because it will also be shared on facebook.

Such a perfect green on a perfect blue. Pond at the golf course. Can you spot Waldo, the Great Blue Heron?

If that isn’t a sight to make you smile, mother cows with their babies, I don’t know what is.

I had a nice break here. Noticed the hat somebody forgot.

A close-up of the hat. If you recognize it, it’s still there!

Look at these hydrangea and other assorted plants. This property is all gardens and has no signs. I’d like to know what it is. It’s on North Cedar Drive on the Idema Explorer’s Trail.

This is one GORGEOUS blossom on a heavenly scented rose bush. Would love to know the variety. I want one!

The end (for now) of the Idema Explorer’s Trail is Riverside Park. First time there today. Wow what a hidden gem.
resized eastern end of riverside park 082222
This is a bayou at the eastern edge of the park. A picture doesn’t do it justice. There is a long road that brings you here. The road continues a little further and there is a nice covered picnic area right on the river.

This is the view across the river from the park. It looks like a campground with launch ramp and docks.

It was a lovely ride that couldn’t have been any more perfect.  Thank you, Lady Gaia, for your many blessings.

It is heavenly, especially for those who like their trails with lots of curves and some small hills, which I do.

Thank you, Barbara. I have a health app on my phone I didn’t know I had until I went for ride with a friend who has it. Just activate it and it does all of the work and then you can share the pics to email. Happy to encourage you to ride 🙂

wow; my phone barely makes calls and cost me all of a tenner ten yrs ago 😀 imagine 😀 but I do now have a pedometer. I am afraid I have decided against the bike ride this time. I am doing my twice weekly 6+k again tomorrow, but on the day when I travel, I have decided to join the open mic performers, and it is just too hot here at the moment to do both. Good for you tho’!

I am doing better after the exercise. Glad to hear you are walking again. Going short distance and having the sunscreen spray (which works perfectly!) made a big difference. It was pretty hot out yesterday but started at 3pm so the shadows of the trees worked well. There was also a strong breeze going that made it bearable.

Oh it was so hot this summer for a while…I stopped…and other things got in the way but I’m back now walking.
Keep doing what you are doing…it makes me feel so much better when I do it.
