There’s always something to forget, isn’t there. I recently packed to go to an Art Summit. Had my pack in the car with everything including wallet and phone. Thief broke in. Took it all. Been replacing my life for two weeks, now. The one thing I forgot to pack, my meds, thank goodness for forgetfulness.

A clever commentary on the state of the lawn and how the best laid plans forget the obvious sign of a vacant home.

Travel prep can be a pain. The grass is probably not as important as the other things you mentioned!
With all the crazy heat we’ve had, we don’t need to worry much about cutting the grass at this time. The only thing that seems to thrive is weed!

Christian, I agree with you on cutting the grass. It’s getting long again but it is such a lush healthy green I don’t want to mess with it.

Dear Lisa,
The grass will be there when they get back. 😉 They might need a machete though. Nicely done.

Why worry about the grass? It’d grow higher during your vacation anyways.

Bernadette, I’m sure you have seen lawn OCD, where it must be just right? The character here won’t be able to enjoy vaca knowing the grass is long. Thanks for reading and your comment.

There are worse things to forget! I knew someone who didn’t realise he’d left all his money behind until he got off the plane in Australia…

The neighbors love a little 4 am, early morning, per-departure lawn mow. 🙂 Interesting approach, Lisa.

LOL I’m sure they love that neighbor. Their neighborhood yardstick against which all others are measured 🙂
