I am today’s host of dVerse’ Poetics. I say:

Colleen is the host of Word Craft Poetry’s Tanka Tuesday. Colleen says:
Last month, I asked Kerfe Roig to select a syllabic form for us to learn more about. Her choice was the Troiku. The Troiku is a form created by Chèvrefeuille here.
I have never tried Kambucha… but many other fermented goodies.

Right now, one 20-oz bottle of any kombucha purchased at the store costs a minimum of $3.50 and usually more. Home-made costs pennies. I hope you get a chance to try it someday. It has its own unique taste and nowadays many flavors are added to it for a large variety.

New form for me! You did it well…..and you had me chuckling outloud with the good bacteria farting and burping bubbles!

Lillian, thanks very much and happy it got you chuckling 🙂

I know nothing about kambucha, but I did enjoy your troiku. I haven’t written one in such a long time. I like the combination of sibilance and assonance ‘still sea of sweetened tea’ and the sound effects of ‘guzzles, farts, and burps bubbles’!

All health stores carry it now. If you buy some, *don’t shake the bottle like I did* and don’t drink more than 4 oz. at a time.

It’s bubbly good on the 2nd ferment. It stays pretty flat until then.

This sounds good but scary. I’ve heard it’s good for us but …..

There are safety precautions in keeping your equipment clean, etc. Also I would not recommend it to those with digestive system conditions without getting a physician approval first. It keeps one “regular” but must be used in moderation. Also, it has trace amounts of alcohol in it that could be an issue for recovering alcoholics.

Are you brewing your own Kombucha? I’ve wanted to try making my own yogurt… but who has time. I loved your creative descriptions, Lisa. I’m still chuckling. LOL! 💜

Colleen, yes, I do brew my own, but it comes and goes. There is a maintenance to it that I get tired of after awhile. Same with the yogurt and the sourdough starter. Thanks and glad you loved the descriptions 🙂

Yes. They advice against green or flavored teas. I’ve used black, rooibos, jasmine. The flavoring comes later, on the 2nd fermentation, when the “booch” is put into bottles and juices, ginger, etc. are added.

It all sounds very interesting. Thanks for the info.

Kind of hard to describe. The “original” is similar to ginger ale but very mild. Bubbly. You can buy it in lots of flavors. There is some with chia seeds in it that I don’t care for as I don’t like to chew my drinks lol.

No I wouldn’t want to chew anything either…ok I like ginger ale.
