I am a gloomy sort. Doom shrouds my world in shades of carnage red and cancer black. I confidently sidle and stalk through days and nights as my sleaze blends with darkness and my conquests beg for the mercy of release.
Yesterday I notice I am being followed. Does the fool have any idea who they are dealing with? A horde of demons are at my disposal! A mere clearing of my throat will call them forth!
No, it doesn’t matter if they do. I will handle this on my own.
It is time to play chicken with an angel.

Several months ago, I had my short story “Wolf in the Wind” published in an anthology called “Shoot the Devil.” The publisher is Catholic and wanted to create a book about good destroying evil. My story was a little more complicated than that, but what you wrote would have very much fit into that universe. The publisher is thinking about a second volume, this time confronting evil in space.

Sounds like an interesting anthology. Evil in space opens up the galaxy which could be a lot of fun.

It is. If you’d like to submit a story, I could pass your name along to the publisher. Let me know.

Thanks, T! I meant it sort of in a light-hearted way but I think it came out darker than that.

That was a most entertaining read, Lisa. I can’t help but think of Lucifer (the show that I so enjoyed). He could have his moody moments 😉

Thanks Dale. I’ve resisted the temptation to watch Lucifer (see what I did there?) because I really really don’t want to like the devil and I’m afraid the show has put him in a positive light. How do they characterize him in it??

Tee hee. It’s kitschy and not to everyone’s tastes. My mother watched a few episodes but I really liked. I am zero religious so I am might fine with them showing his struggles on wanting to be good. He does good – he sometimes fails. He is funny and sexy and full of himself and searching for himself and unsure in some ways. I dunno. I just liked it.

OK, thanks, it helps to know a little more about it. I know from the banners that he’s sexy 🙂 I just don’t want a guilt complex from being attracted to Lucifer! lol

And he can sing! Puh-leeze. Enjoy guilt-free! And his brother Amenadiel ain’t too hard on the eyes, either… just sayin’

The photo was taken last June on the highway between Timaru and Christchurch in NZ, while on holiday. I was trying to capture the sunrise but the headlights wanted to bomb my pic! It turned out a great photo, especially for writing inspiration 🙂
