resized filled planter 1 051223
It’s about 8″ filled with another 4″ to go. 5 wheelbarrows from driveway dirt hill, maybe a cubic yard of composted peat, and several handfuls of pro-mix. I just wet it down. I’m guessing one more, two at most wheelbarrows to go.

Until I get planter 1 done, I hauled many inside plants outside and put them in planter 2. from upper left corner, clockwise: 2 rosemary rooted from cuttings, arnica, lavender seedlings (small with wood tab), chamomile seedlings (wood tab), spearmint (gift cuttings from Cari), corn plant (what I call it) in center, most of the rest are the plants from the wetlands prize that I potted last year and wintered over inside, and one chives plant (bottom left)

on the left are the 4 remaining dawn redwood that are barely hanging on (please pray for them!) and on the right are the smaller flat of tomato seedlings (they got less of the one plant light I have.) the bigger ones are out on the back patio. pictures later.
resized sage lettuce and wetlands plants 051223
edge of planter 2, and in larger black container Grand Rapids variety lettuce acclimating to outside (very spindly right now), to the right are more wetlands plants from the prize package from last year, and just put the sage outside today and gave it a good watering.

  1. I will be delivering basil seedlings to my son and daughter-in-law on Mother’s Day. They’re hardening off outside now.

Haha, you have the best of both worlds there, Christian. Nothing like home grown produce.

I bet they do…when you put the small planters with them that gave a good indication of the size.

Thanks, Punam! They are in what I would call a “critical state” right now. Not sure what’s going on with them but I hope they make a turn for the better soon.
