Open
If you want me to be honest
urge me to keep ego empty,
understand the bumps of naked;
give me time for trust ‘til ready.
Airy flights with guileless commune,
souls entwine in threadless eddy.
New-old state of being vetted
rise to know which things to jetty.
Close
Shun dysfunctioned ways of bias.
Denouement those tattered remnants.
Recondition ‘til they’re quiet.
Slow they dissipate … til over.
One day fling the gates of private:
find there’s nothing behind curtain.
Let sunshine clear place once tied shut;
cultivated blooms now keeping.

The form used today is the syndom, a form I created for Colleen’s birthday in April.
Colleen Chesebro is the host of Tanka Tuesday. Colleen says:
This week’s challenge is #SynonymsOnly. That means you must choose synonyms for the two words below. (Use must use the synonyms in your poem).

I like this innovative idea of creating two poems with two given words Lisa, both are beautiful!

Trust is so difficult, because it does involve that vulnerability, that being completely open. On both sides. (K)

Yes, it is, especially with so many prior interactions with others that violated trust in one way or another. Reality is that sooner or later a person will disappoint you or you will disappoint them. The trick is to continue on and not let it destroy the connection :(

To thyne own self be true?
Hard to be open when we close ourselves…
And yet at some point we mush trust (our) intuition ;)

Without stretching ourselves into unknown territory once in awhile we will never grow. I don’t trust my intuition as much as I used to (it has steered me wrong) but sometimes I just go for it, regardless.
