Shadorma Series Monet Ekphrastic
morning breaks
through with spirit song
veil lifts, clear,
no secrets,
spring proclaims its arrival
we all sing along
melting snow
from rooftop trickles
to greening
one season
relinquishes icy grip
spring sun blue cradle
leave stale air
take a walk with me!
mottled green
snow shadows
we crunch along the shore, deep
in conversation
Shadorma series as well as partly Ekphrastic to The lane in epinay, snow effect by Monet
kigo: spring dawn, melting snow, green snow shadows

Your syllabic poetry writing invitation is to choose a kigo word or phrase from the seasonal kigo list… Feel free to use the Monet painting for inspiration.

“leave stale air
take a walk with me!”
Wonderful invitation! I love the idea of crunching along the shore in fresh air.

And I know you know with all of your walks out in the crisp air. I can’t wait to air my house out.

This shadorma series is amazing. I love how the painting inspired you, Lisa. It looked like our Michigan snow.

We still have snow bones 52 here today. Getting there :)

Hi Lisa, I enjoyed your shadorma series. Minus the snow, these words represented the weather in my part of the globe- ‘veil lifts’ (it’s been hazy here for days), ‘Spring sun blue cradle and ‘Come walk with me’ (we took a walk after days) :)
