As sunlight slips away, we meander garden paths whose cooling seamstress has costumed all with carnival colors. All but the crows, whose shiny, unruffled contrast caws and echoes across barn, windmill, and alchemizes fear for the living in the dead.

lipstick eyebrows dance in dusk’s breath
welcoming the dark
lines, textures, tower
casting spells on punkin minds
greenhorns of horror
furry, spiky feet
tiptoe ever so lightly
don’t move! I got this

I love the contrast of ‘carnival colors’ and crows, Lisa, and the phrase ‘alchemizes fear for the living in the dead’. The haiku are unique, especially ‘lipstick eyebrows dance in dusk’s breath’ and:
‘she rises silently
behind you from the shadows
her face a death mask’.
