Your silent quadrille is unique, Lisa, and audacious. The image you chose to illustrate it is haunting – like the silence.

Kim, thank you! I love the word audacious. When I saw silence was the Q word this week my first thought was Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. Also about the fascist government trying to silence dissent. If they succeed we may as well curl up and die.

What a unique and effective approach to the prompt!!!! Yes, when I insert an ellipsis in my poem, and then do a word count review, it counts the ellipsis as a word! Powerful statement as well!

As I mentioned to Kim, silence to me equates to Rachel Carson and oppressive regimes. Thanks, Lillian.

Laura, I learned that they counted as words at another prompt with a word limit to it. I think they work well here. Thanks for reading and your comment.

A powerful poem of few words flat-lined on the page.

Truedessa hadn’t thought of the ellipses as flat-lines, but that’s perfect! Thank you <3
