Shiitake Love (a tanka)

Shiitake tells me he’s in love while I prep soup one Spring afternoon; his scissor end but delayed — hot and sour must be made. Imagine my surprise and delight when I was cutting up dried shiitake mushrooms for a batch of sweet and sour soup and found this.  What are the odds?
