Happy Thanksgiving to all. Heading out here in a few to my oldest son’s house as his significant other has been gracious enough to offer to host the dinner today. Will be back later and hopefully be able to to do the daily prompts.

I don’t like to do this on a holiday but no time like the present. Pet peeve on when they show previews on DVDs for other movies. 90%+ of the time it has, “Approved for appropriate audiences” screen before it starts, which also has its rating and what might make it inappropriate for some viewers (i.e. young viewers). I know it’s nitpicking, but WHAT IS AN APPROPRIATE AUDIENCE? It’s like the viewer is being judged. It isn’t the viewer who needs to be judged, it is the film and whether it is appropriate for the viewer. The wording of it need to say something like:
“Appropriate scenes for an adult”
“Appropriate scenes for a teenager and older”
“Appropriate scenes for those 13 and under”
OR
“Not appropriate scenes for anyone younger than an adult”
“Not appropriate scenes for anyone younger than 13”
OR
Just make the rating bigger on the screen clearly indicating what age it is appropriate for.

Happy Thanksgiving Li. Enjoy the dinner.

It’s a weird “warning” that accomplishes little other than to shift blame. Ugh.

yes it does! and how about the standard disclaimer that none of the views expressed in the film are the responsibility of the movie producers (paraphrasing)? what, is someone going to sue because a certain brand of car was crashed in the film and they own stock in that car company? just so silly imo.
