Jean frowned when she saw icicles dangling like glass shoelaces from the eave of the roof. The weather man said it would be in the 50s on the report last night. When would she learn? Never must be the answer because she turned the radio on as she drove to work and listened to the new and not-improved report.
The DJ duo of Wayne and Green were excited and talking about the final chance to win an all-expense paid vacation for two to Hawaii to promote the pineapple giant’s new product: pineapple-based meat substitute burgers. Wayne said call 777-888-9999 and be the 17th caller to win. Jean was sooooo sick of this cold weather; a vaca to Hawaii would be perfect. She commanded her blu-tooth to call the number. It rang and rang and rang, until Green said, “WKRP here, you are our 17th caller! You have been chosen to win the vaca for two to Hawaii!!!!!!!”
Now all Jean had to do was figure out who would be the lucky friend to travel with her to the land of tropical weather and beautiful flowers…
The End.
Fandango’s FOWC is chosen, the Word of the Day Challenge is lucky, Paula’s 3 Things Challenge words are frown, shoelace, icicle , and Teresa’s Haunted Wordsmith Daily Prompt is the photo.
UPDATE: I see the word of the day is keeper not lucky, but the story stands as-is.
Lucky girl.

The only thing I ever won from our local radio station is a 6-pack of soda and possibly movie tickets but that’s been too many years ago to remember correctly. It definitely wasn’t anything stupendous like a trip. Great story – a real keeper!
