Aqua, Baston, and Cadme were a color-coded, state-sanctioned, AI family who operated as a unit. Aqua served as ego, Baston as self, and Cadme as subconscious.
Usually Tesla *Powerwalled as they slept, on long trips they needed to fill up at charging stations. Today, three precincts away, they approached the station airborne.
“I want to dock first. Watch out!,” said Aqua.
“Whatever floats your boat,” said Baston.
“I’m afraid one day we’ll all crash into each other and end up in the scrap heap,” sighed Cadme.
Expert engineering and fine-tuned blu-tooth synch ensured another flawless triple-dock.
The End.
*If you don’t want to click the link above, a Powerwall is a giant battery that holds enough to power your home for a number of hours, or in this case, a trio of AI. It works with solar cells, which send the electricity to the battery during the day.
While trying to think of an apt title, the title of a Rob Zombie song came to mind, “More Human Than Human.” First hearing Rob Zombie when my older son was a fan in the 1990s, I was a little put-off by the pounding music and the creepy costumes, but as I listened to the lyrics, I realized they were pretty sharp. Rob Zombie is not only a musician he’s also a talented movie director. That said, his style isn’t for everyone. You are under no obligation to watch the video, and it is not essential to the meaning of my story.

The story was strange and the music was even stranger and I figured the less I said the better off I would be.

The story is futuristic, and Rob Zombie is not to everyone’s taste.

Interesting. This plays like a teaser. I want to know more. Who are they? Where are they going? Why is the state sanctioning AI families? I think there’s a lot more to this story.
Your anecdote about Rob Zombie reminds me of my mom and all the Rap coming from my room. I had a similar experience with Marylin Manson. I was surprised by how much I liked him when I listened to the lyrics.

I really appreciate your comments, Nobbin. Yes, this could be a teaser for more. They could end up being in other stories, so stay tuned!

I hear you! I can’t even get pandora to synch and play in my car with any consistency. Maybe by then there will be something more reliable…

I really liked the idea of mutiple AIs being necessary to make up a whole personality. What would happen if some were constructed to different theories of personality? say Freudian, behaviorist and Buddhist?
LikeLiked by 1 person
As long as they were all non-violent belief systems, probably not much of concern. As to those 3, a Freudian would overdo it, the behaviorist would try to measure it, and the Buddhist would try to detach from it ;)

You’ve put a lot of care and effort into this story. I love how you exemplify the different elements of the psyche in the dialogue! I also enjoyed the imagination of the take on the prompt.

I like the colorful photo, and the story you wrote to go with it is so fun! I like the whole idea. I have a similar story, half finished, about batteries! haha!
I love White Zombie music. My kids bought me a tape of theirs a long time ago with this song on it – because of this song I liked so much. Very cool! :)

Very neat on all of what you said. Have you heard that song, Living Dead Girl? I love that song and the video that goes with it.

AI families – perhaps that’s where we will all end up…

I hadn’t heard that one until just now since you mentioned it. Love it! It’s like an old silent movie, and of course great music. Then another one started playing, Everybody Scream. Love it, too! Lots of zombies, and really makes me want to go roller skating in a grocery store! haha ;)

I liked this, I feel it leads to so many questions, I don’t really understand but think with further tales of the AI family I definitely would. Great stuff, the tune, not my usual jam but nay bad.

Thank you very much, Shrawley. Will give some thought to future plot lines and see what happens :)

p.s. Glad you gave the tune a try.

Always do, someone took the time to write it the least I can do is take the time to listen.

This makes me think that we are all being dragged into a technical world from which there is no escape.

So imaginative and intriguing! They do indeed seem “more human than human”, like three kids racing to the charging station, all trying to be the fastest. Love Baston’s use of the idiom “whatever floats your boat.” A delightful read, Li.

It’s an interesting take on the photo prompt.

This is such a great concept, I love it. And they are whimsical, too, indeed maybe not more but just as humans.

Thanks Suzanne. What I was trying to show is that it takes 3 robots to equal one human personality, no matter how sophisticated they make robot machinery. Difficult to do in 100 words.
