Yes, I remember when we took the kids to Yellowstone, back when black bears roamed freely across the road; often blocking cars for handouts. Timmy was only 3 at the time. I recall looking back and seeing Timmy roll down the window, pointing and crying out, “Kitty! Kitty!”

🙂 I tried to post it last night but the power and the satellite dish alternated going out all day yesterday. And it isn’t even winter yet 😦

Yes it was, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it rain as heavily and as long as it did before.

Climate change?

The thought definitely crossed my mind. You know, I really don’t like this feeling of having to be afraid of the weather. In the past if it rained, it was not given a thought. Nowadays I think “what if it never stops?”

Yes, the unpredictability is worrying.

I have never seen a bear in the wild… and I am ok with that.

Ditto. Bears terrify me. There’s a bear living around the area where my older son’s apartment complex is, in the suburbs of GR. Younger son’s wife mentioned they were out walking in the park and hoped to catch a sighting. I said you really don’t want to come close enough for a sighting of a bear. She said, “It’s only a black bear, I’m not afraid.” I said, “Really? You should be.” Unreal!

That is a crazy comment for her to make- like they are tame? No way. WOW is all I can say to that!
