#MM — Saturday Mix – Rhyme Time — The queen of neither here nor there

File:Dvorak angel.jpg

“The angel of the birds” by Franz Dvorak (1862-1927)

It happened once
I don’t know where
Perhaps a dream
I know ’twas fair

About an heir who played in air
Around her flew two doves, a pair
At night they slept in a tree, a pear
With moonlight blankets of silver flair

Morning flood sunlight bare
Warm on feathers, as on hair
Heir climbed down, walked to the square
Found coffee, rolls, and people there

They asked, “Dear One, live you earth or air?”
She giggled, said, “Neither here nor there.
I go where love doves lead me fair
Once I landed on a bear.”

This week I am introducing a new challenge to the Saturday Mix – ‘Rhyme Time.
‘Rhyme Time’ focuses on the use of rhyme to build your writing piece. You will be given six rhyming words* and need to use all of them (but not limited to these) in your response, which should be a poetry form of your choice.

*Homophones can be used as alternatives to the challenge words.
Our rhyming words this week are:

  1. square
  2. air
  3. bare (or bear)
  4. flare (or flair)
  5. pair (or pear)
  6. fair (or fare)

    That poem is so good!

    I love this part:
“At night they slept in a tree, a pear
With moonlight blankets of silver flair”

Swooning over the phrase “love doves.” <3

You wrote ease and flair! Not normally a fan of forcing rhyme I played to with Fuzzy Wuzzy in One Bear’s Affair?. But I guess we’ll all have some bear to bare… ad’dressed’ or not. :)
