dVerse — Quadrille 162 — bells are ringing

French Dress 1871

Bell is a portal.

Walking through,

when I think “bell”
I get caught up in pink French
silk with frills, creamy skin,
and heady perfume.

Another cache’s trigger pulled,
I giggle, after nearly fifty years,
while watching SNL’s skit,
We need more cowbell!”

Kim is today’s host for dVerse’ Quadrille Monday. Kim says:
Today I’d like you to take any meaning or form of the word bell and write a poem of exactly 44 words (not counting your title), including the prompt word.

  1. I cannot see the video alas, so the reference was a bit lost on me, but I do like the bell description of the frills

Sadly, the video was unavailable, Lisa, but the picture of the pink dress is a perfect illustration for your quadrille and made me think of ‘belle of the ball’, especially the ‘frills, creamy skin, and heady perfume’.

Kim, I just edited the post to embed the video, which makes it possible to watch on youtube if you can’t see it in the post. Hope you get a chance to see it.

It seems to be hit or miss with the videos. I need to get into the habit of embedding them in the post so they can be watched at youtube. And yes GMTA 🙂

I notice when it is embedded a banner saying “watch on youtube” shows up and that makes it better, so I think yes.

Oh so very cool. Maybe I should look to Vimeo for dVerse videos for their “internationality.” I talked with my kids last night about the video, and one of my kids said that record producer (as played by Walken) is a real producer, which makes it all the funnier.

      1. Maybe…I can’t really say. But usually I am able to watch the videos embedded in the posts. Oh, that is really funny!
