Music me with season’s
notes, cast bright light
streams that alchemize dark,
dispel; bringing not leaves but
arrivals, fresh green sprung.
Butter dandelion mop tops
ascend as first bee manna;
crocus buds bowl to striped
lilac, thawed humus notes
tickle my pinked ivory nose.
Linda Lee Lyberg is today’s host for dVerse’ Quadrille Monday. Linda says:
write a quadrille (exactly 44 words, not including the title) using some form of the word music.
After a long cold winter, the spring song is the one we are all waiting for, Lisa. I love those ‘arrivals, fresh green sprung’ – I’ve been seeing a lot of them lately.

Happy it brings hope ❤ I notice the time stamp on this (when I still used my digital camera instead of the phone) and see it was taken in April. We aren't even close yet here either.

Spring sounds like a great proposition to me, Lisa. That said, we’ve had a really mild winter in New Jersey thus far, so I really can’t complain!

You’re lucky. This year has been a bit skimpy on the snow but the cold has been consistent. I’m ready for sun and warmth.

Thank you, Dwight. When I hear that song, I imagine the green appearing with the notes almost as if the music calls them to life.

I like your poem, Winters, sort of. But Spring is much closer to my likes. I didn’t see them but was told that a flight of geese heading north flew by their home yesterday. We are supposte to be in the 80’sF this week, I will pronounce Texas has Spring.

I know 😦 Snow makes winter bearable. We’ve had so little of it, it’s just freezing and blah looking for months.

You have, not us. I do prefer the snow, to be honest. It brightens up the place! But I’m done with it now. Bring on the crocus, daffodils and tulips, please. Okay, okay, I’ll wait till March… sigh. April?
