Friday Favorite Feature is a little late today, partly due to POPO 2026 posts starting. It’s been a hella busy week for me and it isn’t over yet. I’m not complaining. It’s mostly been fun things.
Last week was a trip to the dental hygienist for my last cleaning of the year. The kousa dogwood trees on either side of the entrance to the building are gorgeous .

I’ve written about these kousa dogwood before:
Happy Friday!

The kousa dogwood trees look very awesome, Lisa!
I’d love to read the three posts you’ve linked, but I really don’t have a chance to do it as I’m going to have a good sleep soon. I’m so tired today, and I’m so behind on my plans. I promise you, I’ll read them the next time I wake up. Sorry about that. ☺️
Happy Friday!

Yasan, these trees are super healthy and produce so much fruit. Unfortunately, nobody picks it or eats it. I tried to sprout trees from seeds inside of the fruit but they didn’t sprout. No worries on reading the included poems. Hope you have a pleasant sleep.

That sounds very great, Lisa 👍 I’m wondering why nobody wants to eat it, despite being so healthy. I hope you get them to sprout. Let me know if they do.
Thank you so much for your kind wishes! Tomorrow I’ll read the included poems and get back to you here.
Good night, Lisa! ☺️

I write about why in one of the posts/poems. You’re welcome.

I’ve read all the posts just now, and they’re such wonderful poems about the kousa. 👍
So, the inedibility of the skin, as well as the smallness of the kousa fruit and the number of seeds, making them difficult to commercially harvest… I guess that’s why nobody wants to eat it.
I wouldn’t want to eat it either, Lisa…

I think if these Kousa were surrounding the dental office I go to, my smile would be way bigger going in than it normally is lol.

Yes it is! Looks like a big gummy. Inside like a peach but full of grape-like seeds instead of one pit.

I looked it up. It looks like lychee but I suppose it’s different from inside.
