swift as wind currents
whirl round the trees
warm as the sunshine
brings hums of bees
sprite as ice waters
can dance down creek
spring sings bird songs
life stirs from sleep
blossoms of the crocus
yellow purple white preens
appetize restful waking dreams
Sarah is today’s host for dVerse‘ Quadrille Monday. Sarah says:
A quadrille is a poem of 44 words, including the prompt word, or a variation of that prompt word. And the word I’ve chosen tonight is “swift”. Write a poem – and please link it back to this post. That increases our readership – and yours! Link your poem into Mr Linky Take flight among the poems of the dVerse poets – read, comment, enjoy!
I know that spring is coming, but we still have winter once again…

Oh no, Bjorn 😦 It’s stayed sunny here and most days “warm” enough to walk to the mailbox without a coat. Hoping it clears for you soon.

This feels like a condensed sonnet to me, Lisa, full of the freshness of spring! I love the rhyme scheme and the lightness of it 🙂

Many thanks, Ingrid, I tried to keep it light to go along with the sunshine and the swifts 🙂

Spring feels so close I can practically taste it. I do like the image of currents at the start of your quadrille, it made me think of the movement in murmurations of sparrows, the way they move across the sky in waves and ripples.

We didn’t really get any snow this winter, but it has rained constantly. Some sun to dry everything up would be great.

A joyous Spring poem. We’re enjoying some Spring-like weather, but fearing Winter may have one last blast in store for us.

sunny & 70 today, 75 tomorrow, then back to the 50s and rain, so I guess you could say our spring is here

Sunny and 70! Yippee! Hey I wanted to give you an update on that heron pic I want to make a collage out of. Now that I have a new (it’s an old one my younger son had laying around) printer and scanner I was able to print out a greyscale image of it 🙂

YES! And… I got great news today. Anyone over 50 can get the vaccine in MI starting 3/22, so by summer I will be a free bird!

The crisp of coolness with bright colors poking through.
It makes me excited for the flowers to come.

Oh, they got warm, and now they’re cold again. We had some snow, which we’ll keep getting through April. Spring requires blind optimism in Chicago.

Same here with the cold. Sure hope snow doesn’t continue through April 😦
