our appointed place, in our dappled green lane,
where violet-fringed cobblestones, grounding, end;
with ready welcomes to toast, wordsmith, and play
as we grok with cosmical themes, forms, and friends
from sand to spires, from woe to joys explicate
where muses waft, fragrant zephyrs on the wind
cozied where ideas flow, invigorate;
heaven’s ears perk to hear each verse that is penned
our little place where it’s always snug and dry
a place we never have to guess as to why,
elbow to elbow, we verse ourselves and fly

Grace is today’s host of dVerse’ Meet The Bar/Poetry Form. Grace says:
So, in today’s writing challenge, I offer you a choice of writing an 11-line stanza poem:
1. Eleventh Power (following the elements as described above)
2. List Poem (free association, no syllabic or rhyme scheme to follow)
You can pen more than one 11-line stanza in your poem. Cheers!!!!
What a snug, cozy appointed place it is. Just versing, wordsmithing and letting it fly. A toast to a wonderful community!!!! Cheers!

And yours is a poetic bunker. We do what we can, as you say.

Nice. This form cries out to be about the form itself, and you’ve found a nice balance between writing about writing and writing about the world you’re in. I feel like the prompt has one too many restrictions– 11 lines AND 11 syllables AND a set rhyme scheme AND uplifting. The rebel in me is chafing at it. (or I’m just lazy, sometimes hard to tell)

❤ Alexandra, I know you're a rebel, and who better to rise to a challenge 😉 Glad you enjoyed my "bunker" (thanks, Jane!) description.
