The first time I saw you I heard boom
chaka, the nasty bump and grind kind
The first time I heard you, poetry man
spritzed the air; such a deep inhale
The first time you played, you rosined
my bow; my heart danced a jig
The first time we met, I said too much
but you didn’t seem to mind
The first time we touched I became
your radio; oh, my captain!
The first time we loved, the shag
carpet burned both our asses.
The last time I saw you, you smiled
and waved, another babe on your arm.
I have to admit, when I saw this image, I immediately thought of Charlie Hunnam when he played Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy. Hope you enjoy this poem and the music.

Well I just had to come and see what YOU would do with a music prompt, as you have such excellent musical taste! You didn’t disappoint. I adore Joni and though I haven’t listened to him a lot since the 80s, Howard Jones was once a big favorite of mine; I need to revisit his music! And of course Poetry Man, that’s just classic, and the B52’s! Ha! Love shack, baby love shack! Super fun post!

Shay, when I looked at those pictures, I felt like Gary Larson’s dog, Ginger, listening to a human conversation when I saw “Jax” in there 😉

Ha ha! Enjoyed this :-). Haven’t we all met a charmer like this at some point? This couplet made me laugh:
“The first time we loved, the shag
carpet burned both our asses.”
😀 😀

I liked the “first time” theme here. In fact “first times” bring a lot of memories to mind. Both my active blogs have ‘first time’ labels to me to use when appropriate.

Thank you very much, Jim, and I agree, sometimes that’s the path to take, starting from the beginning.

Marion, thank you and glad you enjoyed it. I may be mistaken, but I think Phoebe passed on shortly after this video was made 😦 Gone way too soon.

Ooh, sizzling. And audio backup to support visuals, lol. I love Charlie too. And the guy in the picture reminds me of a musician with a similar persona–David Garrett. A kind of hip/gypsy/dishevled/rock star vibe–with a violin, of all things!

Ooh he a hottie! Cool video, Stacey! I like how you describe him ❤ Make him a character in a book.

How about he and Jax go on an adventure of some kind involving other dimensions. Maybe they can hitch a ride on one of those alien spaceships from your other books and go back to their home planet. I know they tried that in Alien Covenant but they did a p**** poor job of it. Show them how to do it right!

Lol! I agree about Alien Covenant, first of all. Second…what a fun suggestion! There really are so many avenues one could take in the urban fantasy realm, huh? Funny you should say other dimensions…. there might be at least a glimpse of such a thing in the last book, hee hee
